Charge!!!

I was sat at a waterhole in the Kalahari when 3 Wildebeest arrived. One of the trio was clearly off his head as it was mock charging everything. I'm sure it didn't even know I was there up until the last moment. As you can see, the grass was long so I couldn't get the whole body. I like this action shot as the Wildebeest came at my car head on.

Awesome head on shot :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

If anything the foreground grass enhances the sense of being charged. Love the hair standing up along the spine. The crooked hind legs are a little funny though

Love the action and impending collision here Neal!
Think this can do with a tad more contrast, what do you think?

Marvelous head-on shot Neal, made all the more compelling with the storyline, so thanks for sharing that too :^)

At first I thought there was more focus along the plane of the horns and hairs of the mane that there appears to be on the subject's head, which I can see in the larger version isn't really the case, but reading what Morkel writes and suggests I definitely think this image could be enhanced a little more with tweaks in post-processing. Great image nevertheless :^)

Very intense. Like the drops of water surrounding the subject.

Hi Neal,

I thought this image was on the soft side until I looked at the larger version - it's absolutely fine sharpness-wise (tho' I think the smaller version could use a touch more sharpening). Nice drama here - definitely a feeling of "impending doom" here. This might sound a bit odd, but I think my favourite part of this image is the hair standing up along the neck and back - really caught my eye!

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one!

Nice job in getting this shot, really gives you the sense of the moment. I like the detail and water splashing around, way to go.
