Arctic tern

I am posting this as much because I like the sky as any other reason. It is one of my best tern shots, even if the bird is ringed and has a funny white spot just in front of the eye.

Thanks for looking.

David

I like the lovely soft sky, the good detail, the head turn and the eye. Well caught, if a bit centered. A crop from the left and a little more canvas on the right, if you have it. I do like this as is, though.

that's really nice David, I also like the sky and the tern's pose. The comp may be a bit central, but otherwise I like this a lot.

Thanks for the comments, folks, and I am glad others like it as much as I do. The composition is forced on me as (a) the sharpest shot was with the bird towards the right hand edge of the frame and (b) there was a building just slightly further to the right. Having explained that, those who commented on the composition are, of course, correct.

A great image David. Well caught.
I agree that a shave off the left as we see it would help.

Cheers

Lovely shot. Composition may be a bit central but doesn't bother me that much. I like the pose, the open beak and the sky with the cirrus clouds.
