Michael - I like the sky and snow mix in this. Have you tried a B&W conversion? It may be more effective with the tones here. Just a thought.

I think I like Harry's idea, BW might work pretty well on this Michael.

I think so too. Compositionally there's nothing specifically wrong that I can put my finger on but I just don't find it terribly interesting. I'd like to see the bw version though before deciding.

I like this photo, but I would be tempted to see how it works in a vertical format. To me the large snow bank fights with the tree for attention. Thanks for sharing.

I really like the elements here and the gnarled tree makes a great focal point. I like the foreground snow, but wish it had a bit more contrast to bring out the ripples.

Wow, that's a cool tree! I'd try filling the frame with it, as its gnarly bark and bare branches have a story to tell!

This scene is very well structured and balanced. I think the comp is awesome and like the way the bristlecone looks. The only suggestion I have is to add more punch in the sky. I think the blues and clouds could use a little bit more pop. I really like this Michael.

Michael,

I think the somewhat centered composition works quite well here. What a magnificent specimen of a tree. And all that snow leading in on the diagonal is helped greatly by the lines and texture, otherwise, that much real estate could be detriment. I think this is quite nice all the way around. I might be tempted to boost the midtones in the rock and the tree itself, otherwise not real nits from me.

Thanks for all of the helpful comments! Like Steve and Harry suggested, I have considered a B/W conversion and may re-post. I also think Tony is right about adding more contrast to the FG snow. A little vibrance in the sky may help too. Thanks and Best Regards.
