A Walk in the Rain w/repost

A 75-300mm lens is probably not the normal choice for a shot like this but I had gone out for a bluebird that was hanging out in my yard. Then the gentle rain, the smell of damp earth, and a freshening breeze from the west kept leading me on. I liked the mood of this image...a little dark with a golden herald of hope. Thanks for looking

Nancy: I think the lens served well. I like your exposure of the yellow especially and the comp. My only suggestion would be to burn down some of the BG highlights a bit but not much. Nicely done.>=))>

The water drops, that one in particular, are great, Nancy.

I'll echo Bill's comments about the bright spots in the background. Darkening them will assist in directing the eye toward the subject.

Cheers,

Carol

I'll go along with the others on the BG Nancy, and I might try cloning out the leaf that is imposing on the bottom of the bloom, but not a deal breaker. Well seen and captured.

I like the mood of this too Nancy as well as the image. I agree with Bill's suggestion to darken the bright spots slightly and I also like Bob's cloning suggestion. That said, it's the mood that makes the image for me. Beautiful work.

OK, I've never used a burn tool but thought I'd better give it a try since the comment was unaminous. I think it worked. Thanks for the suggestions

Nancy:
The repost is just right. The daff is nicely shown without the bg distraction.

The long lens perspective works very well here as does the burning on the repost. Welcome to the world of "advanced" processing.
