Common Yellowthroat

I had some fun today photographing these little warblers.

Although I managed some feeding/calling shots, I liked this one the most as I think it shows the beauty of this species so well. What it doesn't show is how tiny and flighty these birds are.

Nikon D300; Nikon 300/4; f9@1/500th; ISO 320; approx. 80%FF; HH.

All comments and suggestions most welcome.

Sweet shot Tom. Love the sharpness and detail on the bird. Nice choice of aperture and SS. Exposure looks spot on and the comp is great. Would love to have this in my files.

I couldn't ask for better of the bird. The perch is nice, if somewhat outweighing the bird. But it is what it is. Fine work! :toast:

Truly beautiful image, Tom. These guys can be very tough to catch in the open and the bgs are often very distracting. This has a great pose, perch, bg and wonderful detail. :toast: :toast:

Excellent, Tom. Wonderful detail and pose and I like the curve of the perch. In the larger image, the Yellowthroat looks just a touch oversharpened to my eye.

Really beautiful, Tom. Not the normal pose for these little guys, and he seems to be sitting in his own little spotlight, making him stand out from the darker BG......love it.
