Peepo

Gallery: Regional: UKNPPosted June 21, 2011284 views22 comments
I've not posted an image for some time but I'll be interested to read any views on this one be they good, bad or indifferent  It's a Jumping Spider - Sitticus pubescens on a yellow leaf taken deliberately from a very low angle to get the 'peepo' effect.

Canon 7D with MP-E 65mm macro lens and MT-24 flash unit, f11, 1/160, ISO 100. Full frame in terms of width but a slight crop off the top for composition.

All comments welcomed

Love it Matt... however I do feel that it needs a tad less mush in the foreground, just to get a touch more definition in a wonderful subject, maybe, just maybe, a slightly (read fractional) higher viewpoint, but know how hard that is at these mags....

Wow thats a sunglasses job, bright or what! These are tiny creatures, the focussing is great IMO, perhaps a little less FG, and a little more Height though. A great image Matt!

Love it :toast: Has a B-movie feel to it - a giant spider coming out of the mist!

I think this is great. I don't know if others would agree, but the golden bath of color seems to lessen the creep factor almost to the point of humor.

Stunning but at the risk of sounding sycophantic I always say that for your shots, promise to hate the next one :toast: :toast:

One of the best Macro shots I've ever seen and for me your best shot on here and there's been some amazing ones
The lack of anything apart from the subject is what works so well for me with this image.brilliant Matt   :wavey:
