Don't often come across these guys in daylight. But as I was a-wandering along, this young one suddenly peeked thru the foliage!
Imaged with a Nikon F-100 and Tamron 200-500mm telephoto zoom.

What good luck to run across this guy during daylight, you must have disturbed its beauty sleep
This is one that's on my wish list, along with the raccoon. Good details, I like the way it's hangin' in there.
Great catch

Hi Jeff,
Good catch on this one! The title matches the image quite well - one of the first things I thought when I looked at this one was how I liked how it looked to be emerging from the foliage. When I checked out the larger version it seemed just a bit soft (sharpness-wise) in the nose to eye region, but not so much as to be a deal-breaker.
Cheers..thanks for sharing this...
