Hey Gang
I lucked out today, went to a coulee near my place, I have always seen coyotes when walking into this little hidden valley. i glassed the coulee and saw a coyote mousing on the other side of the marsh. As she moved on out of sight i made my way to the bottom of the coulee. while glassing the area i spotted a Den near a fence line with a pup playing around. I crossed the marsh with water going well over my rubbers and got as close as this little guy would let me before he went down his den. Manage to capture a few shots. This was my first time shooting coyotes.

Let me know what you think.

It's framed nicely in a great setting. Well worth the effort you put into getting the shot.

Hey Shawn,

I like how you used the frame here (i.e, how you split it) and also how both the foreground and subject are nice and sharp - that always works for me. Other positives (to my eye, anyway) are the simplicity of the image and the diagonal flow provided by what I assume is the edge of the den. I like the positioning of the young coyote in the frame too - overall a well thought-out and carefully constructed image. Well done...

A little hard to assess sharpness on this image - looks pretty good but not quite as "bitingly" sharp as other images I've seen shot with that 400 2.8 (including other shots of your's) - did the TC seem to reduce sharpness a little here?? Just curious...I'm assuming that combo works pretty darned well...

Cheers...hope there's more on the way...
