I was lucky enough to have this pair pop up onto one of my favorite perches Thursday evening. They hung around just long enough for a few shots.

1DMkIV, 500mm f4 + 1.4TC, Black Widow on Gitzo legs, f8, 1/2000, iso 500, Av mode with -2/3 compensation (late evening sun and my main subjects were Goldfinches). Normal processing in CS4. Cropped from horizontal to vertical (7.3MP after crop). Taken at 7:36 pm on June 16th.

I always appreciate your comments and criticisms.

Thanks,

A great comp Dennis. Love the wood and the positions of the two birds. Nice light and good sharpness on both. Well done.

Really nice one, Dennis. I love this perch. Getting these two in the same plane and perfectly sharp was quite and catch. Good job.

Nice work on double subjects - always difficult to compose IMO. The different height of both birds makes this composition.

Dennis:
It takes two birds to do this perch justice. Nice pose from both birds and catch lights in both too. :toast:

Really nice Dennis. I agree with Dave - this perch would have been a bit much for only one sparrow but it works perfectly with the two of them.
