I have only ever seen this one time a few weeks ago and the strange thing for me is that it has greatly varying color on each bloom. Any help with ID will surely be appreciated.

Charlie, It has all the makings of Forget Me Not  . I like the colors against a darkish background and the pin sharp focus.

Charlie: Really nice find and a fine capture of the flowers. Cropping from both sides to make this more of a vertical crop would suit me better. On the regular image the black frame aggravates the problem.>=))>

Charlie,

I can't help you with the id but I really like the image. I like Bill's suggestion of a crop from the sides but this is pretty nice exactly as posted.

Can't help with the ID, Charlie. The blossoms look a little lost; perhaps cropping would help.

Cheers,

Carol

I like the DOF you've chosen to shoot this at Charlie, the sharp, bright blossom with the ghostly looking stem works well for me.
I think Bill's suggestion of a little crop from each side might strenghten this even more.

While I think cropping is a personal choice I do think closer would be as or more effective.

Like the way your grouping of these tiny colorful flowers is isolated in the dark frame, in the minimalist style.
I think Bills idea of a more vertical comp would be a good move.
Well done.

Interesting light and focus. I would like to see it as a vertical pan as well.

I believe Ram is correct with his ID...it is in the Borage family, probably in the genus Eritrichium or Myosotis. It does seem unusual to see different colors on the same plant! Another vote for the vertical crop.

Cropping this was enjoyable. I think the suggestion from all of you was right. How about right/left balance?

Thanks for ID help Earnie and Ram

I think it's a much stronger image cropped Charlie. To me the blooms seem to be facing to the viewer's left and I like the space you left in front of them - same as a bird or other wildlife. It's a good looking image for my tastes.

I really enjoy the cropped image! The dark bg makes this really stand out in a very good way!
