Great Egret

We have had some serious wind over the past few weeks and I suspect it destroyed some nests because many birds at a local rookery were building new nests despite many of the other pairs having big, active fledgelings. This bird made many trips back and forthe while I watched. C and C welcome.

Nice flight pose, I do wish there was more detail in the birds body. I like that you caught the bird with a branch in its bill. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, those white feathers really pop against that rich cerulean blue sky! Nice work shooting flight shots over head from a kayak with a big gun like that, I assume you were docked? If this isn't a big crop I would suggest taking some off the bottom to emphasize the flight direction more. It is inspirational to ponder the perseverance and determination of nature's creations.

Great job getting this so nicely from a kayak, you're a better man than me
I like the flight pose and head position, with the stick in its beak a plus.
Perhaps a bit off the bottom as suggested.
Have a great weekend Keith:toast:

Cracker of a shot Keith, brilliant exposure on those whites, the head's tilting in a perfect position to show the best of that eye, nesting material adds even more interest, and the blue sky is icing on the cake!
