Photo taken August 12, 2010 on the southern shore of Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula. This was part of a scene in which a large pod of orcas killed and ate a minke whale. We (participants in a photo tour organized by Ray Barlow) were in a small (approximately 20 ft) whale/bird watching tour boat.
D300, 70-200mm f/2.8, 200mm, 1/400 s, f/4.5, ISO 400, hand held.
Comments and suggestions most welcome.

The Orca's with their fins and the spray are great. I do find the bright orange rain gear to attract too much attention. I think the image would be much improved if you toned the bright slicker down to match the duller one. Then the Orca's would attract the most attention, but you'd still be aware of the boat leaving the scene.

I actually think the point of this image IS the boat leaving the scene, and the brightness of the humans vs the sharp but rather grey coloring of the mammals in the water. This is a wonderful man vs nature image, and to try and tone down the human part of it so that the focus is only on the whales is a step down for this image.
