Blue Jay War

Sugar Land, Tx June 10,2011

D3 ISO 1000. 300/2.8 f6.3 1/4000s -0.7ev. Gitzo with Wimberly. Natural Light.

These two Jays were fighting over the same perch and same peanut. I wish I could see the second Jay's eye a little better, but the spread tail made up for it, for me.

I'd be willing to give a lot packet of peanuts (and then some!) for such spectacularly colorful birds in jaw-dropping action like this ;^)

Unless I'm mistaken, this is another gem from your wonderful collection I've already seen over at your website Angela, though I'm delighted to see it again ... and again and again, many thanks for sharing and hope you're having a great weekend :^)

Fantastic Angela! I suppose in a perfect world a more side-on view would improve this but I love it as is!

Oh, WOW! Spectacular action image, Angela. You had to be totally pumped when you captured it. The colors are super as are the poses, and to captures such great detail, again, WOW. I agree that seeing the second eye would have been even better but this is wonderful.

Another great image Angela. You are fortunate to have these birds in your back yard. Nice one! Agree with you re the second bird's eye, but you will get it.
