Moraine Lake on a cold gray day in August 2009 Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. This emerald lake was stunning even with the mountains shrouded in clouds. Thanks for looking and for your comments and critiques.

That water sure is a sight to see, I suppose
Excellent framing and love the looming clouds on the mountains. What a great place to just sit and be still.
Wonderful

Eva, I enjoy the refrehing look of this, the image reflects the atmosphere of this cloudy day in the mountains well to me. The simple composition frames it aptly in my opinion and lets me to concentrate on the specific and amazing color of this lake.

I hope to see this lake someday with that great color in the water. Beautiful shot, Eva, and with lots of mood from the clouds.

Hi Eva - One of the things I really like about this rendition of Moraine Lake is the lack of a reflection on the water. This really helps the beautiful blue green tone of the water come through. I think a bit more texture in the sky would add to the image, but also really like it as is.

I don't know where this is, but the color in the water sure looks like a glacier fed lake. They have such a beautiful turquoise color and you've really caught that here. I also like how much depth the lake adds to the scene and the stormy sky finishes off the mood.

I like the drama in this scene. The framing is good and the color of that water is to die for!

Beautiful Eva! Great capture of the color, and your composition shows it off well. A small crop off the bottom might be worth considering.

This is very compelling even with the grey sky obscuring the mountains.
I like the use of foreground elements .
Nicely done.

Eva - I commend you for shooting under the conditions. You have come away with a moody image - I might be too lazy to pull out the camera! There may be a bit too much grey sky for me, but it does balance out the image. Without cutting off tree tops, not many options. Looks like a stunning area, hope to get there some day. I was wondering if there are lake side access points? I don't seem to remember seeing shots from along the lake.

Thanks everyone.

Harry - Thanks for the input. There is a trail along the the right side of the lake at ground level as well as a canoe dock and lodge. When I travel to marvelous places like this, I always take out my camera my camera since I don't know when or if I will ever get back there. A little bit different approach than my photography in Maine and Nova Scotia.
