Found a quiet little pool along the Little River last fall in the Smokies. I was intrigued by the mirror-like reflection of the yellow leaves on the trees surrounded by those that had already fallen.

Phillip, you show the fallen leaves together with the reflection in a unique way that really keeps my attention! The rocks anchore the image aptly in my opinion. The perfect technique, especially regarding depth of field and exposure, combined with the amazing composition has great impact on me.

That's rather nice very confusing as it mucks around with depth perception but highly intriguing.

This is a well seen shot Philip, I think the rocks around the bottom of the frame keep my eyes from wandering off. Like the saturation too.

Gary.

Impressive image. Lots of wonderful elements here to enjoy. I might prefer it just a tad darker overall, but it works nicely as posted.

Very artsie Phillip. I like how the rocks keep me focus within the scene. I would maybe tone down the highlights a little. Beautiful stuff! :toast:

Deceptive but extremely enjoyable Phillip. Love the strong focus of the reflection. The rest of the image adds to its mystery and appeal. Beautiful capture! :toast:

Neat how, at least at this size, it's a little hard to tell where the leaves on the water end and the reflection begins. I like this as it contributes and abstract congruence to the image.

Awesome the way the gold in the reflection mixes with the surrounding leaves. I really like how you have to look at this and puzzle it out for a moment. Well seen!

The two layers work well together. Nice comp and I really like the luminosity of the leaves on the trees.

Nice job of telling the story of fall, with the bright golden reflections and the more muted colors of the fallen leaves. The position of the rocks and the fallen leaves really frame those bright reflections and keep my eyes in the picture.

Phillip, This is really interesting to look at, and I like it very much. It is fun to just let your eyes wander around this image and enjoy it. I like the feel from this alot. Nice work, and well seen.

Thanks for all the comments! It was fun to play with this scene and try different apertures and compositions. In the end I wanted the trees in the reflection to be sharp so I stopped down till I got there.
