Flowing River

Taken while I was hiking at Bushkill Falls in PA. It had rained for a few days before our trip, and that had the river flowing nicely. I did this and all my photos at Bushkill Falls handheld, so I was very happy to see that this one came out very well.

I would like to get feedback on how I did.

I was using my Canon EOS Rebel T2i with an 18-270mm lens. The only thing I did was up the exposure slightly and warmed it up just a tad.

Exposure time 1/30
I up the exposure using Lightroom 3 +0.35 and up the Temp +14

F stop 5.6
Focal Length 18mm

The sweep of the river with the background green is nice. I'd like to see both photos larger though. An even slower shutter speed would soften the water a bit more; that would be more attractive to my eye. Assuming the right shore is photogenic, leaving a tad more room on the right would also help.

Thank you John, I will try your suggestion next time and slow the shutter speed more. I appreciate your comments and ideas on how to make my photos better.

As for the right shore, it had a man made structure on it, and I was trying to show the wilder side of the river. I do have photos where I did slow down the shutter speed and still show the wooden walk way on the one side of the river. I will post one next time around.

P.S. John, I posted one where I had slowed down the shutter speed a little more. Let me know what you think of it. It is located in the Man and Nature gallery.

I peeked at your M&N shot, and now I understand the close border on the right; I would have done the same to keep the walkway out of the photo. I do like the smoother water of the M&N shot, for me it helps these waters that have brown in them to look a little more attractive. To get it much smoother, you would likely have had to shoot in dimmer lighting or with a ND filter.
