I risked getting clunked in the head and thrown into the Tennessee River to get the moonset on the water in April 2010. This shot was taken with the aid of the light from an approaching sunrise. I took about 80 shots for nearly an hour and got a few decent ones. Nobody clunked me over the head, either--I had the car running and ready to go just in case!

This has a lot of potential that I think can be realized with just a few easy tweaks. First, you've got a counterclockwise tilt that is quite obvious but easily fixed. Next, I'd give this a true black point using a levels adjustment. That will darken the hills and bridge and probably give the image a bit more pop. Some other minor contrast and color adjustments might also help. I certainly like the composition and this has all the right elements to really succeed. Hope this helps!

Hi Shirley - I think Phil it a lot of the key points on tilt and ways to improve contrast and crispness. Wonderful comp with a lot of potential. I see you are relatively new here, so any technical info on how you took the image would help in providing feed back. What software program are you using to process images?
