Bushtit??

by Harry Harris

Gallery: AvianPosted June 1, 201183 views13 comments
I was looking through my images for some smaller birds. I stumbled on this little fellow and thought I would post it. I like the extensive green of the bush, the little bit of yellow of the flower and the plain colors of the bird. I think the color of the flower brings the eye to the bird, IMO.
I think this is a Bushtit.

Cropped to 50% of full frame.

Comments are appreciated.

Not often that I'm all that impressed with little brown bird shots, but you've pretty much nailed this one Harry, and I love the inclusion of the sunflower, very nice indeed :^)

Neat shot Harry, the sunflower sure helps make the shot. Really nice composition overall.

Hard to make a "plain brown" bird look good, Harry, but you've done it here. Nice colors and detail.

Very pleasant image all around, Harry. Hard to believe that sunflower stem is supporting the bird.

Beautiful, Harry. Much better than any Bushtit I've gotten. Mine always seem half hidden. The green bg really sets it off nicely and I agree that the flower helps draw the eye to the bird. Well done.

You've done a nice job with this one Harry. A difficult subject well presented. The sunflower adds a lot and the bird is placed just right in the frame with the more OOF greenery as background.
