Iris

While birding in Cape May, I came across this colorful iris in a nearby garden. The home owner was very pleasant and said I was welcome to walk around her yard looking for warblers, or flowers. I never found the Blackburnian Warbler I was looking for, but this iris was a nice consolation prize.

All feedback welcome.

Beautiful capture and presentation Jeff. The 300 and TC really served you well on the bg here. I started shooting flora because I couldn't find the birds I was after. Drop a post over here anytime you feel like it. (smile)

I like the colors and the separation but am not crazy about seeing the "backside" of the other iris

Beautiful shot Jeff! The color and crispness of the larger is wonderful. I like the gradient in the BG, but might consider cloning or darkening that bright spot in the lower left corner.

Personally, I like the twin blossoms. They are nicely set apart from the BG. I do agree with Derek about cloning the bright spot in the LLC.

Jeff:
I find Irises difficult and challenging to photograph. You have done well here. Love the bg (except for the yellow as mentioned).

Don't know how I missed that bright spot (duh). Luke - I see your point regarding the second blossom. As I recall, there was no way to eliminate it from view. In fact, I had to maneuver a bit to get this composition with just the two. Good food for thought though.

Jeff: I wouldn't call this the consolation but rather the grand prize. Beautiful specimens superbly captured.>=))> :toast:
