The lighting may not be perfect, but you managed to get some nice color and detail out of this. I think it's a great view of a funky-looking species.

I love the bird's stare, the position on the tree branch and the overall composition.
I have never seen this bird before, thank you for sharing!

Hi Ken,
Great shot, especially so given the shooting conditions. I like your comp and the detail. I'm thinking Mountain Hawk Eagle because of the long crest but I'm hardly an expert on birds from that part of the world.

Lovely image Ken. Great shot hand holding at 1/250. I like the sharpness, yellow eye and nice BG. Well done.

some skill getting this one with your stated techs handheld Ken
lovely details and soft jungle lighting
I do think the sky could use another round of noise reduction, though overall ISO-1600 treated you well here

I'm not too familiar with the birds of India but this looks more like like the Mountain Hawk Eagle that I saw in Thailand. I like the shot very much.

I like this, as posted, very much. The lighter regions of the BG seem to be spotlighting the bird.

Thanks to all for your kind and positive comments, Raptors are my favourite subject in my very limited avian portfolio, mainly because they are big

What an interesting looking hawk with the headdress, very good detail for the not so good lighting conditions, well done.
