Figwort Weevil

Was out yesterday at the LWC and saw these two Figwort Weevils mating on top of a Figwort Plant. It took about an hour and a half to get a decent shot as the wind was blowing a gale! They were only about 3-4mm long and so they were right at the extent of my macro lens. Interesting to see that the female is larger than the male.

Techs:
Nikon D300s
Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro
Handheld!!
F16
ISO 640

Hi Oscar,

These are some cool looking creatures and this is a cracking shot of them, showing some great behavioral action. I like the strong diagonal of the figwort stem running through the shot, and the complimentary colours all work very well.

Excellent... My only nit is that I am not fond of the crop ratio... that is very personal though.....

Your persistence certainly paid off! Excellent shot, the colours and composition are great. Well caught.

Very nice macro... and something different which is good.
You have dust spots on the lower left hand side of the photo.
