Water Abstract
by Nick Bristol
I made this picture while out looking for new spring images the other day. I was walking along a small stream when I started to notice the interesting patterns and reflection in this spot. I decided to try and get a shot of this after watching it for awhile. I had my 70-200L on my 5D2 body but at 200mm I still wanted a little tighter view. I switched to my 7D and though it was what I wanted.
Thanks for any comments.

Beautiful, natural abstract. Even though I can pretty much tell what's going on and what I'm looking at, this still has a sense of intrigue about how all the lines, shapes and patterns were formed. Great eye to see and catch this one.

Michael, I did lower the saturation of the blue some already, maybe need to go just a bit more.
Thanks to all! Nick
I don't think anyone else mentioned it so it could just be me being overly critical. I do feel like blues hold my attention a little too long being that it's right in the middle. Overall, I'd say this at least in the Top 10 from you or maybe even top 5. It is a very strong image with excellent processing and technical execution.

Michael, I can see your thoughts because I did have those same feelings, so I really don't think you are being to critical. I always appreciate that you let me know your thoughts. I do feel they have been very helpful. I think when I get ready to do a print of this I will see if a little less blue saturation works better. A couple of test prints should let me know! Thanks much!
