So this is another shot from that evening at Oberburgfeld, above the little village of Beatneberg in the swiss alps. I was lucky, just before the sun sets the clouds around the famous three mountains, Eiger, Möch and jungfrau cleared and the mountains glowe red. I love the warm/cold contrast in this one. 7 single shots stitched together in photoshop.

Thanks for any comments and thoughts.

Bill,
Really other worldly. The band of mists in the middle almost makes the glow peaks seem separated from the bottom of the image. It's halts your mind for a moment grinding gears trying to make sense of it. It is a striking image.

Wow, you've got some great mountains out there Bill. I see this as wall paper for the house not the monitor.

Just a great pano with the contrasting warm/cold color and the large version has wonderful detail. And yes, go big, or go home. Or, go big in your home. :toast:

Glorious alpenglow. I like how the fog/cloud separate the glowing peaks from the foreground peaks.

Amazing view here, Bill. I like the layers of contrasting cool and warm tones here with the nice clouds resting below the alpenglow peaks. The large version is very nice.

What a pano!I might have lightened the sky a tad and darkened the FG mountains for a little better balance, but a terrific view.

Wow, this looks like alpenglow on the Himalaya! What a beautiful place! The color contrast between the pink alpenglow and the cool blues of the lower snowfields is amazing. If you print this as a panorama, you might consider cropping just a small part of the top sky to keep the mountain summits out of the middle of the photo and higher up in the image so they give the impression of being taller. The lower part and the right side of the photo looks like it could use a slight bump in contrast, but otherwise this is excellent. The detail of 7 images stitched together is going to be amazing in print!

Fantastic pano! Light and scene to die for. Harry was too gentle though--the top looks darker than the bottom, which shouldnt be the case, i think probably 1/2 stop darker below and 1/2 stop brighter above would do the trick. nice!

Wow, that is some beautiful glow! I like the contrasts between the red glow and the cool blue tones. I also like how the blue peaks on each side frame the composition nicely.

Alpenglow makes for beautiful images and this one is a good example. The large version is really impressive. Great details and the contrast between warm and cool tones is awesome. I agree with prior comments that the lighting seems a bit off with the foreground appearing brighter than the sunlit sky.

Bill, the kind of surrealistic touch is very appealing to me! You found a striking composition, that is well balanced to my eye. I think this is not a natural course of action in panorama format, and you managed it amazingly.

Man, I am late to the party - but I just wanted to add that this looks fantastic. In my opinion it is not easy to do good panos, particular of mountain ranges. But this one works great. The layer of fog/clouds helps to give some magic to the scene and it also makes the sunlit peaks appear "floating". Great stuff!
