Yellow-Rumped Warbler
by Steve Balke
This little "Myrtle Warbler" claimed ownership of this particular tree next to a pond near the Credit River in Mississauga. I just hung around it and waited for it to return each time it flew off. You can see that the bird knew I was there, pointing my long telephoto at it at very close range, but it was determined to bravely hold its ground….for short periods of time anyway.
I like the detail in this image. I resisted the temptation to clone out some branches. I don't find them that distracting. Note that in the corner of the bird's eye there seems to be some sort of growth. I don't know if that is normal or not.
Thank you for looking.

Well done!

No need to clone the twigs, IMO. They are so incidental and do not compete or distract. Awesome!
I like everything here. The detail in the larger version is stunning. Excellent work.
