The Darkness Falls

Basically the same spot as my Singularity post, but earlier in the evening. Everything was a bit blue so I went with a bw/platinum tone. I feel this is different enough than the previous shot to share as well.

I'd be curious to hear how others feel about this.

Thanks for looking.

again, the lines working well - better in fact because of the lines in the clouds as well. b&w treatment and toning works nicely. all in all, if asked for a preference, it'd be this one for me ...

Nice subtle tones, I like it the way it is but it may have room for contrast.

Definitely holds its own against the color version. I may slightly prefer it, actually. This looks great to me.

Definitely the B&W version for me Nicolaus. Wonderful sky and lead in lines. Great tonal range as well.

Very dramatic, Nicolaus. B&W works well with these elements.

The drama here is great :toast: Very cool shot. those foreground lines and heavy storm clouds work together very well.

I like it, it looks good, and processed very well. I also like the platinum tone. I like these type of images that are conversions. I look forward to doing some more. Well Done

Nicolaus,

I missed commenting on the color version (which is beautiful btw.) This version is more stark, graphic and dramatic than it is beautiful - if I were to compare. And this one is equally as strong. Great lines on the desert floor and almost equal in prominence to the ominous clouds up above. A great and dramatic landscape.

Excellent abstract image Nicolaus. I am surprised that it hasn't received more comments. I'd like to see more light tones, especially in the foreground and I think that could be achieved by increasing the contrast in the lines in the foreground or at least by selectively lightening. I hope this helps.

I prefer the black and white here over the color you posted earlier. I thought the colors were a bit weird, but recognized that they were probably pretty natural.. just a weird palette. There's more mood and drama here.
