Pitcher Plant Flower

This is something I'd been meaning to photograph for the past few years but never got there in time (either too soon or too late!). This year I got lucky and found this advanced one - the others were much smaller and just starting to develop so I have a few weeks to work with them I hope. The only thing I don't like about this image is the glare which of course could have been dealt with using a reflector. I know I know. . . it's on the list of "to-buys". But hey, I just bought a tripod (to be delivered this week) so that's progress!

f/4.5
1/40s
ISO 200

Luke: Nice find and a fine capture. Glad to hear you got a tripod. It will only make you better and you're already pretty darn good. Well done.>=))>

Good looking as posted Luke. I wish you could have hit f/5.6 but understand the hand held limitation. Very fine capture and post.

Luke:
Interesting subject and like the curve in the stem.

Congrats on getting a tripod - bet you macro work will improved a lot with it. BTW a polarizer would be better here than a reflector.

Lovely image, Luke ( and the glare is not so bad, I feel ). The textures of the petals are brought out perfectly and the colour harmony is delightful. Maybe just a touch more dof ? - but this is a fine image as is.
