18 inches

18 inches last night, another foot in the forecast. I've decided to stop pining for spring and content myself with winter scenes. This homestead cabin is near my home. It was snowing when I shot this but I'm not sure that's evident.

You have to be kidding me !! I thought it was bad here , until three weeks ago there was no sign of spring and just above freezing temps. today it is + 28 Celsius. Hang in there spring must be on it's way soon. I does look lovely though Nancy !

Went to the beach today—90 degrees. Well composed and wintry enough. Glad I'm not in it!

I like the scene and the open area leading back to the cabin. Looks like heavy wet snow. We're flying in to Bozeman tomorrow, maybe we can bring some warmer weather with us.

The snow coming down is seen nicely in the large version. Which is the only way to see this and truly enjoy the shadows at play on those soft slopes. Snow in May...and that deep...shiver me timbers! You gotta love it....or move! Glad you captured this.

I envy your isolation and here in the lower 48 at that. Snow at this time of year seems very strange but I'm betting you wouldn't change it for a penthouse anywhere else. And to have an old homestead like that near. You are very fortunate, I think.

Thank you all for your comments and yes, I am exceedingly blessed to live where I do. Just can't wait for the wildflowers. With all this moisture, they should be spectacular.

Very nice as posted Nancy. The light and shadows on the snow is nice. Does it look like May? Nope!

Wow, that is something! 18 inches and maybe another foot coming. I love these snow pictures Nancy. I can see the snow coming down too. A beautiful place and a nice shot showing it. Look forward to your wildflower pictures too, maybe in Aug.

The way the trees and snow enclose the cabin, and the sense of gravity everywhere, make for a fetching image. Nice.
