This male Yellow-Throated Vireo was displaying on a branch above a female hiding in the underbrush. I have never seen this kind of display before.

Hey Bryan, I not only have never seen this display before, but never seen one to photograph
Really nice details, color and smooth BG. I also like the head turn....nice work!

Perfect BG and nice composition. Yellows are a little hot and it's not super tack sharp but quite nice

I agree with Luke's observations on the technical issues, but I like the image as presented fro the wonderful pose and graphic lines of the composition.

I toned down the luminance of the yellow. The saturation I didn't mess with because according the histogram, they were fine just too bright. Sharpened another round as well. Thoughts?

Really neat pose with a great look back from the vireo Bryan. I think the yellows look better in the repost - esp above the eye and on the throat.

personally i prefer your repost, yellows now look more natural. Personally, from the composition POV, i would remove some from the bottom to move the branch on the lower third, but its is a question of taste. as well i would darken a bit the BG.

Cheers, Luca

Excellent. Its a fine image and the behavioral aspect takes up another notch. I only see a few of these each year, but I've never seen this display. :toast:
