Nice DOF management and very pleasing color. Off center placement of in focus flower very effective and creative.

Great job on the orange and the color in general Lorna. Wonderful light and a strong composition as well. My only reservation is the split petal of the rear flower and I might clone in a bit of petal there. Most likely my just being compulsive. (smile)

Lorna:
Beautiful! Like the echo in the bg. The small image suffers a little from the compression but the bigger image is nice and sharp.

That's a beautiful flower. I like how you offset it and positioned it against the larger oof version.

Thank you all for the feedback. Gary posting compression and loss of sharpness is a problem I am struggling with ,most of my images after posting lose their sharpness enough just to be annoying!! Thought I would post the larger as it was more true to the sharpness of the image. Thanks for the comments

I love the echo of the other poppy and the difference in their stages. The colors are so vibrant and wonderful! I do wish for a sliver of space on the left to really give that edge of the flower more breathing room, but a most minor nit, for sure!
I haven't made Mike's shield box yet, but I plan to! Nathan, I think you can find instructions on his blog or on YouTube!

The bigger image for me too. Lovely colors and I find the DOF just about perfect for the background Poppy. Striking colors and a nice composition.
