West Coast, New Zealand

I've captured this beach in many ways but during my recent workshop, I worked the interesting rock formations and a closer view of the sea stacks. The participants of course were rather more interested in the starfish colony :)

Canon 5DMkII, 16-35mm, GND filter.

Read my latest report from the workshop on my blog.

well you've got my preference immediately - the rocks as opposed to the starfish. infinitely more varied, rock. love the forms and textures of the rocks - your comp works well. i believe, had it been possible, i might have preferred still (as opposed to moving) clouds.

Beautiful coastal image Kah Kit. I love the curving foreground lines and the sea stacks look great. I'm not completely sold on the cloud movement up top since it doesn't seem to flow with the rest of the scene, but this is a minor nit.

Nicely composed Kah Kit. I especially like the round boulder in the middle.

Quite a lovely mood and melody here Kah Kit. Are those rocks imbedded in the smoother rock? Pretty cool

Very engaging. I am fascinated with the water looking like glass or thin ice. The foreground boulders are great as are the stacks. No so sold on the clouds but there is nothing one can do about that. Still like this a lot overall.

As always, nicely composed.
I too like the rock in the puddle. Also the lighting and movement in the clouds.

I love the distant stacks, a wonderful collection out there. The foreground rock looks fascinating - I wish there was more of it visible.. all those little rock pieces fit together like a puzzle.
