Nesting Eagles

Well, I,m new to eagle shots so could use all the help I can get. This was taken yesterday. The nest was about 80 yards away so this is cropped about 65% of original. Two weeks ago the female was sitting down in the nest and is now acting like she was feeding young so they may be hatched. I am planning a return trip this coming week. C&C welcome and appreciated.

Well balanced comp, I like that he is looking at her. Interesting nest tree, very photogenic. Your techs look very well thought out I would say. A little higher pov would have been ideal, but since when are things "ideal", not in my world. Thanks for posting, good luck on the return visit.

Good capture of action at the nest site. You have the advantage of having a nest site that has an open area around it, so not to clutter up the space. I agree a higher position would be helpful so you are not shooting at such an upward angle, but you did well with what you are working with. Thanks for sharing. Hope you can get photos of the eaglets if they hatch out.

Clayton,
I like how you captured this moment of eagles life. Beautiful comp. :toast:

Nicely done, Clayton. I like how the wings are spread behind the fork in the tree, while the other eagle watches.

Nice one, Clayton. I like that you caught the incoming bird in flight. The sky looks slightly purple to me and I would turn down the magenta channel a bit.

Clayton, That's a great tree for the nest - it's impressive looking in the photo and it shows the nest so well. I think you did a good job on DOF in this situation and I like that you caught the eagle on the left looking at the landing bird. I'm fine with your angle in this situation but personally I'd prefer to not have the branches in front of the wings of the eagle. This same shot, taken with the sun low behind you would likely give better light under the wings of the landing bird.
