This image was obtained at a feeding station at Falcon State Park in Zapata Tx in March 2011. This OC warbler/Vermivora Celata was foraging in some close by trees after a heavy thunderstorm. As per Earley in Warblers of the Great Lakes & Eastern NA, "the dull orange crown is not only hard to see, it is concealed (its Latin name, celata means "concealed" and may be absent in females. The background is a bit busy but overall this photo grew on me. Thanks for letting me share with you & thanks for comments in advance.

Canon 7D, 300mm f2.8 lens, ISO 400, 1/1000, AV on tripod, center weighted.

That's more of the crown than I typically get to see here with the orange-crowns that winter around Phoenix. The rain has taken its effect on the feathers but still a solid shot with nice technicals.

I like the identifying mark of a bird - the orange crown in this case. If it were mine, I wouild crop just to the left of the dark branch on the right as that is the darkest color on the picture and could be emiiminated

Great shot..
I agree with Scott Frye. If you crop the dark area, you give the bird more room, and a better balanced image.

Nice to be able to capture this constantly moving little bird showing the orange crown. Not often you get a look at the crown. Well done.
