Another shot of an Osprey in a tree across the river from me. I have not been having much luck so far, when I see them it has been rainy and windy...O'well, it is what it is!

Canon 40D, 100-400L IS @ 400mm, 1/640sec, f/5.6, iso200, AP, Handheld, windy and rainy which took away from the sharpness some!

C&C welcome.

Great pose with the open beak!
The large version is very soft and a lot of noise, so I'm guessing it's a very large crop. Also, most lenses are not optimal (soft) at the extreme end of their focal lengths.
Sometimes, we're just too far away - and have to remember the image in our minds rather than in a photo !

Yes it was a large crop, I forgot to indicate it...I had to squeeze out everything my lens has to get these shots, hopefully I can catch them on a calm day!
