Rickett's Glen...

So, I know that at least one of us is heading here to host a workshop this weekend...and I'm wishing it was me. I happened to get there a few weeks too early this year. So, the greens weren't where I'd hoped them to be...but at least the water was flowing clear and crisp.

Thoughts on the composition? It's clear that this is a place to head back to in the fall...at least it was clear after I realized that Ricketts Glen was about a month behind the rest of the northeast in terms of a spring bloom...

By the way Joe...the water's still frigid....

C&C welcomed...and always appreciated!

Robert

I really like the sweeping lines of the water in the FG, leading the eye directly to the falls. Nice job.

I know this spot well! Great composition and sweeping line formed by the water. I think after this week of warm temps that the spring bloom should be moving along now, hoping anyway! I'll be up a couple days in advance scouting and shooting and should have a good idea of where and when to be this year. Thanks for the scout report Robert!!

Looks like an amazing place and the composition is rock solid. The trails on the water surface are wonderful.

The comp is just fantastic here, Robert. I find the detail-less blacks to be somewhat distracting and the image, overall, even the large, appears soft (?compression)

Love the choice of water flow and exposure here, Robert. Very nice. Web presentation could use some better sharpening IMO.

The sweep in the flowing water is gorgeous. I'd like to see a bit more detail in the deep shadows, but that's a very minor nit on a beautiful shot.

The composition is excellent! I agree about it needing better web sharpening.

Thanks all for the feedback! A number of you are absolutely correct about the web sharpening (as none was applied). Guess I was sleepy when I posted it! I'll throw up a sharpened version of later this evening.
