My first post for a while - I have been working for exams which start on Monday so photography has taken a back seat. I went out this evening to my loca park and got this blackbird. The annoying bright background is a large blue piece of canvas and something yellow (not sure what!)

Techs:
Nikon D300s
Nikon 200-400mm at 400
Handheld
F4
1/320s
ISo 800

Oscar :wavey:

Edit: damn, just seen a dust spot above her head...

The background (including dust bunny) is a bit of a shame, but easily sorted in Photoshop. The bird is nice and sharp, and the low pov works well. I do think I would have given a little more space at the bottom of the picture for the virtual feet, but basically a good shot that must have come as a welcome break from revision. Good luck with the exams.

A lovely image, Oscar. I like the soft surroundings and the worms in her bill are a nice bonus. I would also prefer a little bit more space at the bottom. Goodluck with your exams.

Lovely image of a common species - well done. Great low PoV, interest added with the behaviour and a story elelment about the bird's surroundings is added by the background.

Improvements could be made by slightly toning down the background (don't remove it) and the composition could have been improved by including more of the bird's virtual feet. The dust bunny goes without saying. Nice shot nonetheless - well done again and good luck with the exams.

Cheers,
Chris

Glad you managed to take an hour off from relentless revision. I like this , especially the beak full of food. The background is easy to sort.
Good luck with the GCSEs. See you back at LWC after June 22nd!!
