I came across this rock formation at Bisti Badland. It looks like a dragon laying on the ground.

Good eye to find and compose this! I recognized the dragon's head even before I noticed the title. Excellent B&W conversion creating sepatation of the "dragon" from it's habitat, and showing us the detail in the dragon's front legs clearly, but without stealing the scene. The mood of the whole scene is appropriately influenced by the stormy sky.

It does! This is really cool John. I'm with Wayne too, the sky works great with this. I too like the b/w processing and how the dragon stands out. Very interesting, and great work! like this alot.

Wow, that's cool. Great find here. I like the composition and this works very well in B&W. I assume that you deliberately processed this so that the surrounding landscape is dark. I think it works well here since the foreground is so strong and the viewer's focus should be on the dragon. In this case I think the processing works very well to highlight the dragon in its environment. Very creative and great vision!! :toast:

Very interesting find and excellent visualization. Did you dodge the dragon to make it stand out so well? The dark tone does work well with the moody sky.

Thanks guys for your comments. Yes, I dodged the "dragon" so that it stands out from the environment.

Your 'development' of this makes it one of the best I've seen from the Bisti. Nice to see a relatively unique formation, too.
Excellent work all the way around!

Great title and great image. It really does look like a dragon laying on his belly on the rocks. Well done.
