Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 200, 1/25 @ f16

I had hoped to post a shot of an open Day Lily but the morning after my last post saw lousy light and gusty winds. So it goes. This will have to do. Shot at the Mercer Arboretum several weeks ago. All comments welcome.>=))>

Gosh I like the colors and light shown in this Bill. Well composed and captured in my opinion.

The colours and details are amazing, Bill. I also liked the symmetry in the composition. Wonder if removing/cloning out the lighter patch in the ULC back-ground could enhance the image.

Beautiful colors and exposure. Agree on cloning out the light patch, but that's from a purist perspective. Honestly, I didn't notice it until it was mentioned.

Well this was an eye opener the first thing this morning. Beautiful color and lots of energy - well named. I like the symmetry in the composition as well and on my monitor I'm seeing the same light green at three points in the image (top left, bottom and near the top right.) So the light area of the bg seems balanced to me. I like it and think it adds interest in the bg without being distracting to me. I think it's more of a subjective thing. After looking at Mapplethorpe's bgs for three weeks now I may be getting more tolerant of bg elements. This is a striking image.

Lovely colors Bill! As others have noted, I like the symmetry in this, but I wonder what a slight crop from the right to just past the tip of the petal would look like? I think it would make this even more symmetrical. That being said, this is spectacular as presented.

Boy Bill, not too shabby of a fill in substitute. Comp and detail are wonderful but the colour!! Man do I love the colour combo here.

Wonderful colouring, Bill, with, to my eye, just a slight softness in the petals which seems to capture the flower perfectly. I am with those who like the light patch - it adds a little more depth to the image I think.

Without question the colors are splendid. I wonder at the composition. It appears somewhat tight.

"Eclectic", because we draw from various sources to satisfy our art.
"Electric" because the colors and light are completely natural, and presented as the maker intended..
Hat is off to ya - It's beautiful Bill.
A testament to your artistic abilities, and great eye for beauty :toast:
