Mark IV, 800mm, ISO 800, f/9, 1/640th, wimberly, natural light

I have only seen a Mallard on the pond this one time. Hopefully he will return but I suspect he was simply passing through

Comments greatly appreciated. Larger file provided.

I like this a lot Peter, great preening pose and an interesting but not distracting bg as well as a good low angle. Well done. :toast:

Wow!!!! Amazing low angle. Can't get any lower than that. Love the colors, great pose, and composition. Well done.

Peter, love the detail, color and exposure on this Mallard. Also love the low angle a lot! Not sure why the BG looks a bit funky. Did you do some cloning? Some of the lines and color changes look unnatural to me for some reason...but it isn't too distracting to take away from a great shot on the subject.

All around nice photo Peter. The low angle really makes this one special, but the preening pose and excellent detail also contribute! :toast:

Thanks everyone I appreciate the comments. I did clone out a hot area in the BG in the upper RH corner. The overall look of the BG is the actual look of it.
