McWay Falls

Rumor has it, that is the most beautiful waterfall that falls into the water on the West Coast. I believe it!

Big Sur, California

Oh, by the way, a GND filter and exposure bracketing was used to create this image. I'm only mentioning this because I hear many people say they "only" do one or the other, you can do both!! You've got options for a reason.

Love the color palette here Steve. So soft and pleasing - the warm pink glow on the ocean is lovely. Superb processing work too.

Wonderful image Steve.I particularly like the turquoise water and red / yellow glow in te sky. BTW - I have done both as well as use Photomatix to meld them..... I do mention such actions when I do.

This place looks like is has about a thousand different comps to shoot, and you definitely found a good one.

Personally, I don't like filters much any more, hard to keep clean in all the crazy elements. Think you could have gotten the same shot with one type or the other by itself? ;]

Nicolaus, I agree with you but it did save me a few extra minutes in post processing. Didn't have to take another exposure and blend it in for the brightest part of the sunset.

I would prefer the luminance in the white surf to be a little less pronounced compared to the rest of the scene. A little added brightness in the background water and sky might erase the necessity to dim the water along the shore. Excellent colors and crispness.

This is one of the best renditions that I've ever seen of this scenic. The colors are breathtaking.

a beautiful rendering from this great spot Steve. a slight crop from the right to lessen the presence of the trees might strengthen the image further.

Beautiful image Steve, I love the placement of the waterfall within the frame. The color of the bay really sucks the eye in where it counts.

Really nice pastel colors and beautiful light Steve, I only have the feeling I would have liked to see more on each side.
