Ah, amber waiting to happen, but I'm not going to hold my breath for the next million years. Getting the ant is a nice touch and the bright orange sap stands out. My inclination is to crop this to a horizontal which would put more focus on the ant and the sap. As presented, the long line of sap tends to pull my eyes out the bottom of the picture.

Zaccaria: A unique Flora subject. I see Mark's point about a horizontal presentation but I like this as is. I'm generally not fond of ants in images but here it works OK. Well seen.>=))>

Zaccaria,
I like the vertical bands in this and the textures. The comp works as posted for me - in fact I like it. My only problem with the image is what appears to be the softness near the edge on the viewer's left. Don't know if you could have tightened down any more to bring that into focus. Otherwise very interesting and well done for my tastes.

An interesting capture for sure. I think I would crop off the left OOF section, maybe tighten up on the ant and make it my subject with the sap. Lots of options that might be fun to play with. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the feedback guys... i'm sorry i didn't get too check back earlier... a lot of traveling at the moment sadly... i will try turning it horizontal my only fear is that it wont be seen as the tree's trunk but as a branch.
As for the ant, he was quite tricky to catch as he was running around frantically trying to avoid my lens
