Western Kingbird

Hello everyone. Well now that spring is here I have seen some pretty cool birds. While out yesterday I saw a pair of these kingbirds, but only one them was willing to get their picture taken. Its more of a portrait cause they were sitting on a fence and I really didnt not like the un-natural perch. Hope you enjoy. C&C welcomed and encouraged.

Damned fences. Detail is excellent. Highlight and pupil in eye just great. I'd clean up the speckled beak a bit. Kinda hate to say that cause this is a great portrait. Hope you understand.

Really nice detail in this kingbird. If his beak is speckled from wear and tear I would leave it as is. I think, though I would crop a little higher on the chest, before it begins to taper-maybe just below the white.

very nice pose and good details, Robert. in terms of comp, I'm ok with the amount of bird you're showing but would reduce some of the empty space above (and then correspondingly on the sides to keep the vertical format).

Marvelous detail you've captured here Robert and I like the unusual perspective :^)

Nice portrait!
Great pose, detail, and bright eye.
I'd also crop a little higher on the chest, just below the whites.

Good detail on the larger image, a fine kingbird portrait, well done.

Nice portrait Robert, love the detail and the eye is superb. I'd leave the beak alone, but would probably crop as per Brians suggestion.

Spring did not bring our coast the great usual migrants this year and it was very dissapointing. I love the colors and detail here. Nice eye contact too.
