Painted Bunting male with wild Primrose reflections.
Just one in a recent series of both static & action "bathing" shots I've been working on, using this native pink flower.
F/10, 1/800th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x ext and natural light around 10:00am. About 70% of the original.

Very pretty Howard. Wonderful color on the Bunting and the reflections of bird and flower are great.

Since you are working on a series of these I will mention my only tiny nit. I think the tip of beak gets lost a bit against that dark in shadow BG. I wonder if you could brighten the beak just a tad in PS and gain a little more separation?

Good stuff, I look forward to more!

Howard, this is a real beaut. What a bird, and those colors, eye contac,t and setting make this a fine image. Love the flower reflections as well as that of the bunting.

Howard,

Terrific shot of a spectacular bird. It's great that you could get him to bath between the primrose reflections.

Great bird that you have captured nice and sharp. Nice reflection of the bird and the flowers. Unfortunate cut of the stone across the area of the beak.
