Peter, I really like the grasses in contrast with the tree, and also enjoy the nice spring feel this has. I think the large version is especially nice! Also the sharpness of it looks great to me. Nice work!

This is sweet--two nice distinct layers, good color contrast, great clarity!
In my utopic world, this would have more comments right now than your typical alpine lake at sunrise shot, so the (rhetorical) question i have is--how do you take a subject like this, that only appeals to a small group of photogs or artists, and give it mass appeal?? No easy answer, but i think two things might draw more attention: 1) dramatic light (the light here is pretty even or flat) and/or 2) A focal point to pull the viewer in--in this case the grass abruptly begins the bottom of the frame, it has nothing singular to grab you. Maybe you could borrow the rattler from Steve S's recent shot...
Anyhow, i like it as is, just some food for thought... :wavey:

Beautifully composed and subtle complemetary colors. Nicely done.

Beautiful. The dried grass heads above the new green growth are a welcome sight this time of year. Your contrast and colors are really nice.
