Station Cove Falls
by Dan Roberts
Another image from a recent trip back east with a bit of time to visit a few waterfalls. This is Station Cove Falls in Oconee County, South Carolina. There was a pretty big log jam just OOF on the left and a lot of logs/branches around the bottom of the falls in general to such a degree that it effectively limited choices of composition. The fall actually splits fairly evenly but I isolated the upper section and one side in order to avoid the distracting tangle under/around the left side.
I highly recommend a visit to this location if in the area and the opportunity presents itself. This is a beautiful little fall with lots of moss and plants growing in/under multiple cascades. It's about a half hour walk to the falls along a well marked/maintained trail through shady hardwood forest. There are dozens of other falls within a 50 mile radius in this corner of SC/NC/GA. Most of them are on public lands within short hiking distance of roads.
