Here we go Again

Hi All,

From a previous trip I had an array of bad weather every time I tried to catch a sunrise at the beach. I went once, twice, three days in a row and it was just gray and uneventful.

When I finally got a clear day I realized I had not planned a composition, I was too busy cursing the weather. Lesson learned!

Empty of ideas I just setup the camera and two waves crossed in front of the lens and that was it I said "Here we go again" and that's why this is the title of the image.

I took a 2nd exposure for the sky after the waves because it was too bright. Then blended. A reverse grad would have helped too!

Thanks for your feedback!
Luis

Luis, I find this visually quite appealing though not in a natural way (if that's of importance to you). The color of the water is inconsistent and doesn't match the sky (or even close). I don't know why reds would be reflected in the left side water and not the right given the sky being the same color throughout and the water very similar in nature. Looks like two shots from different places and times but more likely some issues with the blending work. A crop off the top might work well too, after post-processing issues are worked out.

Hi Mark,
I probably waited too long to take the 2nd exposure so they look as different shots because they are different shots. My processing skills are not good enough to fix it. I just liked it, I guess I was wrong about that too. :frown:
Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciated.

I don't think you can be wrong about whether you like something or not.

Edited: This is wonderful Luis. I might bring up the highlight a bit on the right sandy area but it works for me. I especially like the light on the mid ground ocean.

Ty Eva! I'm happy you like it...
I'm having one of those days :frown: so I'm a little afraid to ask....
Did you like my photo and called me Hamed or did you like Hamed's photo and just commented on mine?

I like the rich warm color in the sky contrasted with the cool tones in the foreground tide. I like the lines created by the waves and I'm glad you chose to retain some nice detail. Some may comment on the centered composition both with the horizon and the position of the sun but I don't think it detracts in any way. Fine work here.

Sorry Luis! I like this. Maybe I am just looking at too many images tonight. I apologize for the mistake. Thanks for bringing it to my attention......

Lovely composite Luis, my landscape skills are very poor so I never would have picked up on others suggestions but I have learned a lot form those comments ! Still I think it is lovely . We are both on a learning curve when it comes to post processing I guess , though you seem light years a head of me ! Hang in there your on the right track ! Cheers

Very effective comp and light. The clinical discussion is good, but I'm just too tired tonight to get into it. I just like the way this looks.

To me the lack of reflection on the right hand side is pretty minor, the water appears to be more choppy on that side which would diminish some of the reflected light anyway. The waves coming together in the FG creates a nice leading line into the scene.

Beautiful light and color, Luis. The strong orange/blue contrast is very dynamic here. However, as pointed out, there does seem to be some color shifts in the water on the L and R sides which seems a little strange. The fg wave patterns are very well positioned, which lead my eye into the scene very well. I'm not sure about the upper angular clouds, and would consider cropping these out because they pull my eyes away from the scene and are distracting.

A very pleasing composition with the way the two waves intersect and draws me right into the image and that colorful sunset. I also would think about maybe taking some off the top but a wonderful image as is, nice job in getting this, way to go.

This stuns me! :toast:

As far as correcting the water if you wanted to, double up the image as two layers and use color mode in the layers pallet then try taking a sample of the correct water color (color dropper tool) and then try painting it in (paint brush). That is the easiest way I can think, yet not as finessed as advanced techniques.
