Poor light and a very large crop so poor detail, but hopefully some redeeming factors here as a behavioral image.

The 4th chick tried repeatedly to get on board too, but just no room left.

Hello Sandy, as a behavioral reporting image it absolve to its aim pretty well, but from the picture itself it is not at your usual level. both the small and the large versions look not properly on focus to me (could be my tired eyes)
Cheers, Luca

Does look like the light was a little unforgiving but it's terrific as a behavior shot. there is also the cute factor, which is large. Very enjoyable

Sandy, again I am familiar with the conditions you were shooting under and you accomplished a lot more than I could have. Can't wait till my wife gets home. she will love this shot especially the yawning chick. I would have loved to have captured this one.

I presume this was at Lake Hodges, San Diego, where I know these mothers and chicks were very far away in the middle of the lake. Well done (in the circumstances).

Love the crowd on mother's back and the little trailing behind. This is a great image, but I hope you get one like it in soft light and near full frame.

Despite the softness this image is a joy to look at Sandy; I'm smiling wide as I type :^)

Great scene you have captured here, Sandy. The one chick yawning is really special. There is quite a bit of detail loss. I hope you get another chance with them.

Nice capture, Sandy. Not bad for a large crop. I like the one chick yawning

Nits noted I'm still jealous as all that you go to see this and get an image. I love the behavior and maybe next time you'll be closer.
