This is for Weekly Challenge My Backyard #480. This keeps popping up every year. If anyone can ID I'd be grateful. I shot it with a Canon 30d, f 5.6., exposure 1/100. Any comments appreciated.

I've never seen anything like it. Cool! I love the colors! The white spots in the background are pretty distracting, but I like how you got in nice and close to the subject.

The sharpness on both the seeds and the hair on the seed pods is amazing. It's in the milkweed family, but that's as far as I can take it without seeing more of the plant and probably the flowers.

Wonderful detail Lucy. Looks like milkweed. Great for attracting butterflies at least in New England.
