Cascade of Tones

After a long hiatus from NPN I decided to renew my membership and look forward to participating with this forum.

This is one of my images from my Eureka Sand Dunes First Impressions portfolio, , that I've been working on all winter and part of last. I haven't printed it yet but will soon as I'm getting this portfolio of work together. It's been a fun series and really my first attempt at doing a series of images focused on a central theme.

I believe I shot this last Feb. as the sun was just about to set or just after setting over the Panamint Range.

image info: single image raw processed in DPP and post work in PS CS2 just using adjustment layers and channel mixer then converted to a duotone. 5d

Inriguing and well-crafted composition. I love exploring all the lines you've created. The conversion also works well. A keeper for sure :toast:

Well done, Cory. This has very nice light and shadow with interesting lines and shapes. The more I look at this the more I want to keep looking. I really like the ripples and texture in the very foreground too. Nice Work! :toast:

Hi Cory,

It's good see you back here!

I really like the shapes and tones. The balance overall is very pleasing. Well done!

btw: Stop by CANP and say 'Hi'. CANP also has its own critique gallery, so feel free to post CA images there, as well.

I like the yin/yang pseudo message here Cory. Wonderful lines and light and shadow play. Excellent B&W conversion.

Wonderful lines and the B&W accentuates the abstract character. I'm wondering about burning down the background so it doesn't compete as strongly with the foreground shape.

Very impressive portfolio Cory. It has a finished and professional look to it. All the shots look great, my favorite from first glance would be Ripples in Time. This one is also very nice. Outstanding work. Congrats.

It's a fitting title, the tonality here is really amazing! Nice comp too.
