Captured this Wood Stork in Ding Darlings. Apparently these guys are very common to the Florida Folks but, being from Colorado they are new to me. Thanks for looking.

Ha ha. Being from Indiana, I had the very same experience there this winter. Looked like an albino turkey vulture! Nice shot.

Bob,
I know a lot of folks who don't care for wood storks because of the bald head, but they are unique being they are the only stork in NA plus I find them to be graceful both on the ground and in the air and with that woody looking bill they are aptly named. They are also a challenge to photograph because of the whites and dark plumage.
You did well to get light in the eye, that can be hard to do. Some of the whites are pretty bright, if you shot this in RAW you may be able to bring the down some. I think a crop eliminating the OOF branch would be effective (left side and bottom), the branch does draw my attention, also if you have more room in front of the stork in the original frame I would add some there for a nicely balanced composition.

Nice detail and DOF and good job with the exposure in what appears to be tough light. On my monitor there seems to be a blue cast, might consider warming the color a bit. I'm not a fan of the square crop on this image, maybe some more room at the top to make this a vertical, if you have it.

Bob, these are tough subjects. Not only the white vs black, but Florida sunlight is harsh to begin with. Like the ruffled feathers, and agree that if you have more space, some in front would be nice.
