Surprised to see a pair of cardinals in our back yard. The female was content to forage on the ground while the male raided the feeder.
Converted from RAW.

John,
I like the cardinals pose and the nice natural colors. For my tastes the the right side of the frame is a bit too tight, more space there might this feel better balanced. I might be tempted to give the face & bill a little more selective sharpening. The male cardinals may be more colorful but I really enjoy the more subtle colors of the females.

This looks pretty good to me John, maybe a touch of selective sharpening to the face. Any chance of getting a lower angle here?

Nice details on your very colorful cardinal, but I also would prefer a lower angle...I know it's not always possible.:) Sharon

I really like the subtle colors of the female of this species and you did a nice job of showing them here.

Much more used to seeing shots of Cardinals in trees, so this one make for a pleasant change John :^)
Although it probably wasn't feasible, I can't help wondering how much better this might have looked had you been able to acquire a lower point of view.

I really love the female Cardinals, John. Even more so than the flashy male. There subtle browns and reds are awesome. I think a bit lower point of view may have helped here and a bit more room in front of the bird.
